Pros & Cons

  • The responsibility and expectations are exceedingly high. Most days involve being stretched far outside my comfort zone. The remuneration is very competitive.
  • By far the amazing people and the results focused culture. The amount you learn from extremely talented and driven colleagues is immeasurable. The best part is that they genuinely care about your development and wellbeing!
  • Meet new people, work in cool industries, work with smart people.
  • Learning opportunities and high responsibility from the first day.
  • The travel can be very exciting but can also become tiring and tedious quickly (particularly if the destination is remote/rural).
  • Hours can be tiresome, however interesting work more than makes up for it!
  • Hours are tough, constant Mon-Fri travel is very tiring and makes it difficult to stay in touch with friends back home.
  • Long hours.

Corporate Social Responsibility
A core value of the firm is "Do the right thing". As the company prides itself on delivering sustainable results, this comes naturally to all consultants during engagements. The focus on safety of all members is definitely a major plus! However as a firm itself, there is definitely room for improvement in providing active programs to get more people involved is CSR outside engagements.

Culture

Culture
The culture of the company is very results focused, being one of the few consulting firms that genuinely care about what is right for the client. The hierarchy is very flat and middle heavy, meaning that you are able to learn and develop skills regardless of where you are in the organisation. Teamwork is essential and communication with your team and client is your most valuable asset when it comes to consulting delivering sustainable results. Social life has gotten better thanks to a work from home Fridays initiative being driven by senior leadership. Colleagues are all down to earth, exciting people who all have their own unique quirks.

Not much to say here, as a consultant not much time is spent inside the home office. There are hot desks available if you want to come in during work from home days. Dress code is suited to the client with a strict no tie policy in place at all times!

Training
The training programmes themselves could do with some improvement, however they are getting better very quickly. Most of the training comes from learning on the job, as every engagement leads to new problems to solve!
