What are your thoughts on pay and bonuses at your company?
Great. Higher pay than I thought it'd be, especially for a graduate position. I'd say Telstra has some of the highest paid graduates
Graduate, Melbourne - 22 Jan 2020
Pay and bonuses are very reasonable - including the bump once you roll of the graduate program
Graduate, Melbourne - 22 Jan 2020
They are industry average at this level.

Poor. I think this will ultimately be a clenching factor in leaving one day. they withhold 6% of your salary as 'variable' and base 60% of that on the company's performance. So, you should only really pay attention to your fixed rem - super. When you look at it like that- not very comparative pay.

Telstra pays well if you're a technical graduate - however, if you're a non-technical graduate, you may be at the market rate, or slightly lower. Bonuses are dependent on both how the organisation is performing and the individual. It is quite generous; however, it's not always guaranteed.
Midlevel, Sydney - 22 Jan 2020
Above market rates, clear requirements for performance-based bonuses
Graduate, Melbourne - 22 Jan 2020
Overall Package of 70k for a grad sounds good but is surprisingly little after super and tax. Doesn't go far living in Sydney. Keen for increase in roll-off position.
Graduate, Sydney - 22 Jan 2020
Complex way of working it out and depends on company performance more than individual performance
Graduate, Sydney - 22 Jan 2020
Great salary for a grad and entitlements to bonus based on performance
Graduate, Sydney - 22 Jan 2020
Grad pay is competitive with the industry and post roll off is very good compared to most places.
Midlevel, Melbourne - 22 Jan 2020
Pay is not industry leading, but is very competitive given the expected hours of work.
Midlevel, Melbourne - 22 Jan 2020
The bonuses depend on the company's performance but it's usually between 4-6% of your base salary.
Midlevel, Melbourne - 22 Jan 2020
They pay very well compared to the average
Graduate, Melbourne - 22 Jan 2020
Great, grad wage is above average and first wage out of the program is almost 50% more

If Telstra didn't pay worthwhile salaries, they would have extreme difficulty retaining any staff.
Experienced, Melbourne - 22 Jan 2020
The base graduate salary is on par with industry standard but after finishing as a graduate the increase is quite substantial.
Graduate, Brisbane - 21 Jan 2020
I am waiting HR to bump my pay as they are slow to response until given the heads up by approving person.
Midlevel, Sydney - 21 Jan 2020
Pay is very competitive for graduates and when rolling off at the end of the program. There is no bonus for graduates, but there is once rolling off the program.
Midlevel, Melbourne - 21 Jan 2020
Pay is fine bonuses are weird I don't fully understand how it works, I understand there are employee reviews but no matter how hard I work I can't see myself getting a larger than average bonus due to the way the reviews work -- there is no incentive here.

As a grad you have a lot of opportunities to go to events, volunteering / collaboration with other companies. Some business units, like Sales and HR, have more opportunities to attend events than a unit like IT. Workspace is pretty nice, flexible hours are good.
