Through Teach For Australia, you’ll find that classroom leadership builds a foundation for long-term impact. The Leadership Development Program offers a combined postgraduate education and employment opportunity like no other. Associates develop essential leadership skills as part of a global movement dedicated to achieving equity in education. Over two years, Associates teach at a school serving a low socioeconomic community with full salary and benefits, earn a Master of Teaching on an assisted scholarship, participate in targeted professional development and receive one-on-one coaching and mentoring to accelerate personal, professional and academic growth.

Christiana Lees (Cohort 2018) is one of Teach For Australia’s newest Associates. She joined the program at the beginning of this year and finds herself teaching her passion – Mathematics – to students at Taminmin College in Darwin.

Zach O’Conner (Cohort 2017) moved from Melbourne to Darwin to teach at Taminmin College at the beginning of 2017. He now teaches Maths, Science and Chemistry at the school and loves to see the impact that he is having on his students.

Teach For Australia allowed Yvette to start a meaningful career with experienced and passionate mentors guiding her development. Previously, Yvette had worked in event coordination, marketing, tourism and business development before joining Teach For Australia. For the first time in her career, as a teacher Yvette is excited for the day ahead.
