About Monadelphous
Monadelphous is a leading Australian company providing engineering, construction, maintenance and industrial services to some of the world’s largest Oil & Gas, Mining and Infrastructure projects. We are the team that constructs and maintains the machines, facilities and infrastructure needed to dig resources out of the ground, turn the turbines and keep the water flowing.

Our Vacation Program
The beach can wait this summer. Let your career go places on our paid Vacation Program.

When you join Monadelphous as a Vacation student, you’ll jump into an immersive and supportive environment, working alongside some of the most talented and respected professionals in the industry.

Obviously, some corporate roles like Human Resources or Occupational Health and Safety lend themselves to being office-based, but if you’re an Engineer, you’ll go to site, so you could find yourself working on shutdowns, fixed-plant maintenance, wastewater treatment plants or construction projects for major blue-chip clients. If you’re in a support function, then you’ll be part of the glue that holds it all together.

We’re structured to suit our customers and the marketplace, so we deliver our services through two main divisions; Engineering Construction and Maintenance and Industrial Services, underpinned by a Corporate support function.

We’re looking for future leaders in:

  • Mechanical Engineering
  • Mechatronics Engineering
  • Civil/Structural Engineering
  • Chemical Engineering
  • Electrical Engineering
  • Construction Management
  • Human Resources
  • Health, Safety and Environment
  • Occupational Health and Safety

What do we look for?

  • Working towards a degree in Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics Engineering, Civil/Structural Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Construction Management, Human Resources, Health, Safety an Environment or Occupational Health and Safety
  • Passion for the work we do and desire to be hands-on, (which means going to site for our Engineers!)
  • Strong decision-making and problem-solving skills, commercial acumen and innovative thinking
  • Resilience, team-oriented nature, diligence, safety-focus, leadership skills
  • Australian or New Zealand Citizens or Australian Permanent Residents
  • Undergraduates in their second last year of study
  • Most importantly, a people person - the kind of person that asks how someone’s weekend was before they launch into the to-do list.

Pros and cons of working at Monadelphous AU

Pros

  • The culture and the people. Everyone is super supportive and encouraging and always there to give a hand or answer any questions.

  • Inclusive, Promotive, Encouraging

  • I was attracted to the company since they are a Contractor. Every job is different which can make the work more interesting and more challenging.

  • Monos has covered course costs and materials, bicycle lockers, gym in the building at very low rate, reasonably active social club, subsidised Adventure World tickets for family fun day.

  • I was attracted to the company since they are a Contractor. Every job is different which can make the work more interesting and more challenging.

Cons

    • FIFO rosters aren't always ideal but necessary for site experience.

    • Can be a lot of responsibility when first starting as a grad

    • Since they are contractors, sometimes changes are inevitable. You get told that you're going to this site at this time but it can change at short notice.

    • Sometimes processes are not taught to the graduates and when given a new task it is expected of us to understand how to do it automatically.

    • Limited graduate support resources mean you need to be proactive and drive your own development
