We know that after years of uni, you'll be ready to get on with the real work and progress as quickly as you can. So we've developed a Graduate Program that enables you to influence when you reach the finish line.

On the Monadelphous Graduate Program you'll be encouraged to drive your own development and take advantage of all the opportunities available to you. If you're a go-getter, with top performance ratings, you could find yourself attaining all your competencies and completing the program in 18 months. That said, we value attention to detail and being thorough, plus some cycles may take longer than others, so if it takes 36 months to complete the Program, that's fine too.

What do we look for?

  • A degree in Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics Engineering, Civil/Structural Engineering, Chemical/Process Engineering or Electrical/Instrumentation Engineering.
  • A passion for the work we do and desire to be hands-on, (which means going to site!).
  • Strong decision-making and analytical skills, commercial acumen and creative thinking.
  • Diligence, adaptability, team-oriented nature, safety-focus and leadership skills.
  • Australian or New Zealand Citizens or Australian Permanent Residents.
  • Undergraduates in their final year or graduates who completed their degree in the last two years.
  • Most importantly, a people person - the kind of person that asks how someone's weekend was before they launch into the to-do list.

The Monos Way

A lot of organisations talk about their commitments to gender equality and reconciliation in Australia, but as a Contractor, we're doers, not talkers. So over the last year, we've launched a Gender Diversity and Inclusion plan with measurable targets and achieved a Stretch RAP from Reconciliation Australia for our contribution to the lives of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander People. Hopefully that gives you a sense of how serious we are about diversity in our organisation and that we mean it when we say we encourage applications from everyone.

Apply now

We'll start the recruitment process immediately so whilst applications are open until 7th April, apply now to be ahead of the crowd. Top tip! Make sure that your resume and a copy of your most recent academic transcript are submitted as a single file at the time of your application. We look forward to hearing from you!

Pros and cons of working at Monadelphous AU

Pros

  • The culture and the people. Everyone is super supportive and encouraging and always there to give a hand or answer any questions.

  • Inclusive, Promotive, Encouraging

  • I was attracted to the company since they are a Contractor. Every job is different which can make the work more interesting and more challenging.

  • Monos has covered course costs and materials, bicycle lockers, gym in the building at very low rate, reasonably active social club, subsidised Adventure World tickets for family fun day.

  • I was attracted to the company since they are a Contractor. Every job is different which can make the work more interesting and more challenging.

Cons

    • FIFO rosters aren't always ideal but necessary for site experience.

    • Can be a lot of responsibility when first starting as a grad

    • Since they are contractors, sometimes changes are inevitable. You get told that you're going to this site at this time but it can change at short notice.

    • Sometimes processes are not taught to the graduates and when given a new task it is expected of us to understand how to do it automatically.

    • Limited graduate support resources mean you need to be proactive and drive your own development
