Culture at Monadelphous Australia

8.6
8.6 rating for Culture, based on 39 reviews
Please describe your company's culture both in the office and after hours. Let us know about the structure and hierarchy, cooperation and teamwork, and socialising amongst colleagues.
I think it depends which location you're at. I've found everyone to be very helpful in teaching/helping me and others on the team that I've worked with so far. Not sure about outside of work. I've had a team I was very close to and hung out outside of work, but where I'm currently stationed the team dynamics are different and I don't socialise with my colleagues, but they are still good at work.

The safety culture is very good here, and so is the working culture on site and in the branches, however I think there is a stronger sense of hierarchy in the head office. This is only a small issue I have found with a few people.

Good welcoming culture. Would like to see more females in management / mentor roles.

There's no micro-managing & there is a sense of trust between seniors and those they manage. It feels casual enough to ask anyone for help & they promote an open door policy.

Very productive all round. The culture is based upon the company's core values and it creates an environment that strives for excellence and success, whilst also ensuring the wellbeing of its employees.

Everyone gets along well and has the mindset to get work done when required which is great. There is a good amount of communication between departments to complete what's required.

Great professional but casual culture in the workplace, with great friendly and open colleagues/managers.

Management leadership team doesn't look down on you - treat you as an equal, and approachable (open door policy), all our projects require collaboration so you're often working in a team, socialising amongst colleagues is a norm in and out of office with organised events.

The culture in my current team is very good. During office hours everyone is kind and approachable, outside office hours everyone is very sociable and gets along. Even my managers are always very approachable and easy to get along with.

Outstanding culture, great interaction at graduate level horizontally across the business but also vertically with senior management. At social events everyone is approachable and actively seeks out conversation with others.

The culture can't be faulted. There is an emphasis on recruiting people with a team-first mindset. There is a common understanding that we are all there for each other for professional and personal purposes. Everyone respects one another irrespective of roles.

Great culture, one team approach and equal thinking for everyone regardless of role

No after hours work, very limited overtime. Convoluted structure to upper management. Good teamwork with regular socialising outside work.

I'd say the company is very casual. Usually they are very flexible with hours especially when I was working in Brisbane. I was told that as long as I did 8hrs a day I can start or finish whenever I want to. Everyone is willing to help one another. They also do lots of morning tea and gatherings where everyone can socialise with each other.
Graduate, Brisbane but currently based in Gladstone - 22 Jan 2020

The culture in the office is excellent. People show full respect to each other and are always willing to explain things to me that I don't understand. The structure of the company is well organised- I can see a lot of cooperation and teamwork through the company. The working hours are also very flexible so I can definitely find the balance between work and rest.

After hours socializing, generally exceptionally good people, but one or two people are unpleasant when put under pressure.
Graduate, Sunshine Coast - 22 Jan 2020
The culture is exceptional. Most if not all employees are welcoming new starters and are willing to help out. Consistent social events also add to the positive culture.
Graduate, Perth - 22 Jan 2020
Overall, the culture is very friendly and open.
