I am currently supervising our Calsoil project out at the Caltex Terminal

Field investigations, data management, factual report writing

I get to assist in project management for master planning projects, this involves daily liaison and meetings with clients and external consultants and managing expectations and deliverables.

Can vary from being extremely busy to very quiet and regularly varies - good mix of proposals, managing, detailed technical work and exposure to clients

I've had a very wide exposure to big and small projects with lots of support from my senior consultants.

GIS desktop analysis, map creation to support reports, webmap configuration.

Coordinating, reviewing and compiling Green Star ratings, energy modelling, Section J assessments, reports on master planning

working with builders to come up with a solution to get the job done onsite (RFI's). designing structural elements of the building. every now and then, fee proposals for small tenancy works.

Sustainability consulting on building and community scale projects, Green Star and third-party sustainability rating consulting, thermal and daylight modelling, climate change adaptation, Reconciliation, and place-making.

Highly varied day-to-day, very dependant on the current project needs. I am usually assigned a task / deliverable and have to work both individually and with various other team members to complete the task. Sometimes delegation and management of small teams, sometimes individual work with a reviewer providing feedback.

My work is half in the field and half in the office. I do contaminated site investigations - which includes taking samples in the field, data entry and report writing.

Site Visit 15hrs Detailed design using software (CAD, 12d) 15hrs Tender design 7.5hs.

When I am busy, I am extremely satisfied with my work. When there is downtime it can be very unsatisfying like any job.
