Over the course of the programme, you'll gain great understanding of the work we do, our commitment to safety and the options we offer across our large-scale operations. You'll build relationships with the Rio Tinto team and community; gather valuable real world experience – while getting paid to do it!

Our roles are spread across a number of locations including our head offices in both Perth and Brisbane and in regional locations throughout Western Australia, Queensland, and the Northern Territory. Our regional operations’ roles will be residential and relocation may be required for the duration.
To be considered, please ensure you complete all pre-screening questions and select the relevant discipline you would like to be considered for. Your preference will be taken into consideration, but please be mindful a large number of vacation placements will be based in remote locations.

The exposure to so many different teams and opportunities. The breadth of experience that you receive immediately and how this becomes transferrable across the entire business. This means that even though I have started in Procurement, the skills I have acquired may allow me to work in a completely different role and team in the future with little concern.

I do not have a technical background, so this has been a challenge but very rewarding in the amount that I have learnt from colleagues and experiences over my time at the organisation.
Unpaid overtime. Pressure/stress
Perceived pressure and lots of red tape and redundant procedures due to the scale of the company, some not so fantastic people
No structured rotations for graduates to experience different parts of the business and change can be hard to achieve at times.
