The Opportunity
We are looking for a graduate from within the, Geosciences or Environmental Engineering study field with a genuine interest in rock/water chemistry and hydrogeological systems.
This role will be included in our graduate program which is designed to provide you with the opportunities to develop your skills foundation and gain exposure in real world environments that prepares you for career success.
What the role entails
This role is a great opportunity that will see you working across a variety of complex project initiatives within Western Australia, contributing to the successful delivery of a portfolio of projects to the rest of the business. As the role sits within the Iron Ore business unit, there are opportunities to gain site exposure covering a multitude of real time impacts that are key factors to our sustainability in to the future. With a structured and planned development strategy you will get exposure to all the tasks expected of an Environmental Professional within Rio Tinto.
Reporting to the Superintendent, Mineral Waste Management you can expect to gain operational experience working over the life cycle of mine sites from pre-mining studies to operations to closure throughout the two year graduate programme. This technical role will also have you working with and interpreting large data sets, engaging highly skilled multi-disciplinary stake holders.
