How is the Program structured

Once selected, graduates will be placed in one of the given fields - IT, Computer Science, Software Engineering, Mechatronics/Mechanical Engineering, Electronics/Electrical Engineering, Systems Engineering, or a relevant engineering discipline.

During your placement, you will be given real responsibilities, and real outcomes that shape the future of Lockheed Martin.

Your manager will provide ongoing support on a daily basis.

You will also be assigned a mentor who will provide technical knowledge and feedback every step of the way.

In Feb 2017, we will have the below vacancies for our deserving Graduates to join our team in Adelaide, Melbourne and Canberra.

The below positions will be open in Feb 2017 until 9th April 2017:

  • Graduate Software Engineer
  • Graduate Hardware Engineer
  • Graduate Systems Integration and Test Engineer
  • Graduate Information Assurance Engineer
  • Graduate Desktop Support Analyst

In Adelaide we have opportunities for hardware engineers and software engineers, in addition to a cyber opportunity in Melbourne and a desktop support opportunity in Canberra, with qualifications in one of the following areas:

  • IT
  • Computer science
  • Software engineering
  • Mechatronics/mechanical engineering
  • Electronic/electrical engineering; or
  • Relevant engineering disciplines

The successful candidate will complete their tertiary level qualification from an accredited institution in 2017, with a sound level of academic achievement. You will possess professional communication skills – both written and verbal, have a flexible approach to managing changing priorities in this fast paced and productive environment, coupled with the eagerness to learn and advance in a growing organisation.

All applicants must be Australian Citizens and must be willing to undergo a Security Clearance.

Pros

  • The tasks I am working on are interesting and matter.

  • Great chance to learn from some of the best in the industry. Working at the forefront of technology.

  • Everyone is friendly and they ensure all employees are keep up to date with what is happening within the company.

  • Friendly environment, everyone's is happy to assist and there is a strong culture of training and mentoring graduates.

  • Flexibility in work/life balance e.g., start and end times are flexible within reason gym memberships promoting health initiatives such as the GCC step counting challenge.

Cons

    • Some processes are tedious.

    • My team work in a separate classified building, as I am waiting for my clearance to be processed sometimes it can be lonely and hard to self-motivate as I am always working on tasks alone.

    • Do to the need to know basis of most project content, information and knowledge sharing can be low.

    • Working on old and out dated technologies that won't help you down the track.

    • The need to know basis on which knowledge is shared between projects.
