I'm currently preparing tenders and responding to requests for information. Involves some paperwork, making phone calls (talking to subcontractors), review and coordinate drawings from architects, engineers, and everyone else involved in my project. I attend a lot of meetings and sometimes get to visit sites similar to our project. In the grad program, I also spend a lot of time doing online learning courses. When tendering is over, I will have to review the submissions and meet with the subcontractors to discuss their tenders and make sure they haven't excluded anything to decide who will be using for the project. Then we will go to construction certification after which I expect to be heading out to site to supervise works, making sure all the materials our subcontractors bring to site and everything they build is as per our drawings and specifications. We also have to make sure they're complying with Lendlease's Global Minimum Requirements which control health and safety on site.

Roles and task vary day-to-day depending on what the project demands. A general area that needs improvement is the perception of young people and the values they bring to the company and individual teams; although industry experience is little, they are the future client and employer. Senior people need to listen and show appreciation!
