2019 John Holland Graduate Program – Rail
Locations: NSW
John Holland is a fully integrated infrastructure and property group. Operating across Australia, New Zealand and South East Asia, we have been transforming city skylines, connecting regional centres and providing vital infrastructure for more than six decades. We are committed to being recognised by our employees, customers and other stakeholders as an industry leader in environmental management across the diverse projects to deliver sustainable solutions. Our ability to successfully deliver rail-based transport projects and operations spans more than four decades. Many of these projects exhibit our multi-disciplinary expertise including rail, civil and building engineering, and integration to operations and maintenance in the rail environment. It is this experience that gives our rail customers the confidence that we will deliver projects that meet their requirements.
Our John Holland Global Graduate Program provides an opportunity to gain well-rounded experience both in technical and soft skills, whilst working for one of Australia's leading and most diverse engineering, construction and services providers. We are proud that many of our past graduates are now in various senior roles throughout the business and we look forward to developing the next leader in you.
Throughout the two-year program you will be supported through soft skills development, on-the-job experience and training, and opportunities to build lasting relationships with senior leaders representing John Holland's diverse operations. Our projects are located in both metropolitan and regional areas, so it is essential that you are prepared to relocate if required.
From the demands of heavy rail construction and maintenance to the detailed planning required for urban light rail upgrades, our turnkey service offering encompasses rail project investment, design, construction, integration logistics, and operations and maintenance, most often in live operating environments.
As a Rail Graduate you will have the opportunity to get exposure to a wide range of rail projects covering all aspects of construction, stations, structures, tunnelling and maintenance in both live operating environments and greenfield sites. We are currently seeking graduating civil engineers who have a keen interest in track construction and track maintenance to join our team.
This will see you working with the construction project teams and delivering a package of work in accordance with project specification, whilst ensuring the activities of subcontractors and suppliers are completed to schedule and cost requirements. This will involve procuring materials and services that comply with specifications, drawings and Environment standards, and understanding how to measure plan costs, efficiencies, yields and quality of product as directed. You will also develop the ability to read and understand plans, review design documentation to provide constructability review and implement final plans.
We understand that our greatest resource is our people. We pride ourselves on being a market leader in targeting training, career development and remuneration. We provide long-term career options within an equal opportunity workplace where we recognise the importance of flexibility and a healthy work-life balance.
It's an exciting time for us, with billions of dollars of work to deliver. We need the right people with the right attitude to help us succeed.
