How flexible is your company when it comes to hours?
Hours vary, but most of the time I work 8 hours excluding lunch hour. If longer hours are required on certain days, it is possible to leave early another day or leave or come in later from an appointment.

Midlevel, Sydney - 03 Dec 2018
We have a 40 hour week on our timesheets. I usually work 8:30 until 5:30.
Graduate, Melbourne - 03 Dec 2018
Sometimes I am required to work more than the hours I get paid for to meet a deadline/ get field work done in one day. This is not always reasonable and we don't often get paid overtime or get time in lieu. However they are flexible with starting and finishing times. We have to work 40 hours each week which is more than the government proposed hours.

Fairly flexible.

The hours are very flexible in my case, and I spend a lot of time out of office on field sites. I am in control of my time, and ensure I get my work done efficiently so that there isn't a need to work ridiculous hours.

Very flexible, as long as you get 40 hours it doesn't matter when.
Graduate, Sydney - 29 Nov 2018
I almost always work a 40-hour week. GHD is very flexible with working hours, as long as you do the hours you've been contracted to do, nobody has a problem. I have worked from home on a number of occasions. Days in the field can be 8-11 hours often not paid for additional hours worked.
Graduate, Sydney - 29 Nov 2018
Pretty flexible. You can make up the hours in the week for other days.

The company prides itself on having flexible work hours. I know some graduates who work long hours, but there are also many people within the company (not so much grads but more experienced people) who work reduced hours and there are no issues. If I ever need to leave early it's fine if I start early, and the same with if I start later I can finish later.

Flexible, overtime is rare (depends on group)
Graduate, Perth - 29 Nov 2018
10 out of 10 for flexible work hours, ability to start early and finish early, or start late and finish late. Work extra one day and head home early another day. However often overtime is required.

Flexibility is promoted although when you are overallocated in consulting that is a good problem to have.

Flexible with hours as long as you do your set amount each week. Generally you need to do a bit extra to get your billable hours in.

company is very flexible when there aren't major deadlines. They are also very accommodating when you booking this in well in advanced. You will have to accept very long hours when working in the field, but time off is always given in lieu.
Graduate, Sydney/ Brisbane - 29 Nov 2018
Must work 40 hours per week but depending on supervisor there is flexibility in how this is achieved. Company willing to work around my own preferences/requirements. Do sometimes need to do paid or unpaid overtime.
