7.7 rating for Training, based on 53 reviews
Please describe the training programmes at your company and tell us what skills you've picked up.
I have learnt a great deal in my time already, but for such a technical business, we have very little formal technical training on a lot of the software we do or the processes. This is more informal ad hoc training.
Graduate, Adelaide - 05 Dec 2018
The training programmes are frequent and useful, however, I would like to see more training in programs that we may use such as 12D, CAD or even DRAINS.
Graduate, Adelaide - 05 Dec 2018
We do lunch learning sessions and online safety learning modules.
Graduate, Adelaide - 05 Dec 2018
The Graduate Module was one of the best aspects of GHD. The adventure, excitement, ability to meet people from all over NSW and the new skills and branding techniques are an amazing asset.
Midlevel, Sydney - 03 Dec 2018
Training in the grad program is great. Not sure what happens afterward but I believe you have to seek out training for yourself once you leave the grad program and organise with your manager if you can attend. Each person is given a training budget for the year.
Graduate, Melbourne - 30 Nov 2018
The vacation program had many useful training sessions explaining the way things work in the industry. I have learnt a lot of technical skills from informally as well, predominately on SpaceGass (structural modelling) and MS Excel.
Intern, Perth - 29 Nov 2018
Some of the graduate program training courses are obviously unnecessary, while others are relevant. If the money saved from cutting the superfluous courses was put into running more relevant ones, the program would be much more successful and worthwhile.
Graduate, Melbourne - 29 Nov 2018
First aid training, white card training, reporting training and technical training in the field.
Graduate, Sydney - 29 Nov 2018
Formal training can be a bit clunky as it is based around being in the office which i am often not. But informal training has been phenomenal. I have learnt so much is such a short time.
Graduate, Sydney/ Brisbane - 29 Nov 2018
The graduate program provides structured training sessions but some of them haven't really been applicable to my role. However, the company is catering to any external training I wish to receive, as long it is related to my role.
Graduate, Melbourne - 29 Nov 2018
Various seminars and lectures
Graduate, Perth - 29 Nov 2018
1 or 2 hour training sessions scattered throughout the year.
Graduate, Perth - 29 Nov 2018
GHD has some formal training through the graduate program, but the majority of the training is on the job.
Graduate, Melbourne - 29 Nov 2018
We have the company business school which has internal training opportunities. We have the ability to go to external training courses as well to ensure our skills are kept up to date with the industry.
Graduate, Melbourne - 29 Nov 2018
Company needs to improve culture around training. I can spend time doing training but viewed as a secondary consideration. Some training sessions are run for grads. Best training is on-the-job learning.
Graduate, Perth - 29 Nov 2018
If joining as a graduate, there is a two year training program where you complete half day or day training sessions to build skills for working in a consulting environment. Other training is readily available if requested
Graduate, Brisbane - 28 Nov 2018
Very good, impressive amount of thought has been put into it. Psychology.
Graduate - 28 Nov 2018
Graduate development training is ok but not comprehensive.
Graduate, Brisbane - 28 Nov 2018
Lots of different training around soft skills. Social awareness, understanding of self, dealing with pressure etc.
Graduate, Brisbane - 28 Nov 2018
Graduate program of 2 years has compulsory modules, but they're mostly useless.
