I'm a graduate Civil Engineer and while I do enjoy the work I am given, there currently is a lack of engineering related work at my level.

I am happy with my day to day responsibilities but am ready to take on more and look to become a project manager.
Graduate, Melbourne - 30 Nov 2018
Plenty of engineering design work and site work, occasional computational modelling. Typically good variety, visit lots of interesting places.
Graduate, Perth - 29 Nov 2018
Preparing drawings/sketches/figures and models to both internal and external clients.
Graduate, Melbourne - 29 Nov 2018
I believe that the work I do is worth charging out to clients, despite my limited time in the industry. This is a result of the interest of those around me to teach me how things are done.
Intern, Perth - 29 Nov 2018
I have a good variety of skills that are used by several work groups and teams on a breadth of projects. This keeps my job interesting, challenging and it never gets monotonous. I have also taken on more responsibility as a safety representative for my team, allowing me to express some of the business' values.
Graduate, Melbourne - 29 Nov 2018
Varies significantly. When I am out in the field my day to day role tends to involve supervision of a drilling crew as well as geological rock core logging or geological mapping. These days can be long and involve getting dirty but they are a lot of fun and I have seen some fantastic parts of Australia. When i am in the office the hours are a little nicer and a little closer to an 8 hour day. they tend to be spent behind a computer doing analysis on data collected while out in the field. My role is split about 65:35 field: office.
Graduate, Sydney/ Brisbane - 29 Nov 2018
My role as a Graduate Environmental Scientist involves writing scientific reports, organising fieldwork and getting out in the field to sample water, soil and landfill gas.
Graduate, Sydney - 29 Nov 2018
Civil design, (3d and plan creation)
Midlevel, Regional - 29 Nov 2018
My role is not what I thought it would be, and my experience has me considering a different career altogether. Again, this has little to do with GHD but I find the office environment, and tasks that I do very systematic and repetitive and struggle to find stimulation from the work. I draft and review a lot of material although there is not much room to express myself.
Graduate, Melbourne - 29 Nov 2018
Good exposure to variety of areas. Lack of site experience
Graduate, Perth - 29 Nov 2018
When I'm on site I'm a site supervisor on a drill rig, overseeing the work going on. I also describe and log the core that is drilled. When I'm in the office, I work on compiling and analysing all the data that is collected on site.
Graduate, Sydney - 29 Nov 2018
EP writing, report writing, data analysis
Graduate, Perth - 29 Nov 2018
I am a project manager within the water team. On a day to day basis, I could be attending client meetings, attending a site visit, doing technical work, coordinating other engineers/scientists and writing reports.
Graduate, Melbourne - 29 Nov 2018
I have a varied role as I work on numerous projects and have various levels of responsibility.
Graduate, Melbourne - 29 Nov 2018
Assisting team members in detailed design, tender design and proposals. Predominantly in the office, hardly on site
Graduate, Brisbane - 28 Nov 2018
