My company promotes LGBT equality and has a group in the company that supports this. There is also a focus on equality in the workplace and to achieve a high percentage of females in an engineering and architectural practice.

Company has policies in place to achieve strong diversity. There are people in the office from all over the world. As it is a STEM industry, it is still however male dominated.

I think we are an inclusive business, and certainly are trying harder
Graduate, Adelaide - 05 Dec 2018
This not important. People get employed based on their ability, and nothing else.

They are at the front in the industry in all of these areas

The commitment to diversity is really good, however not all actions have been implemented to reflect this. The company has support groups and diversity targets, however staff appears to be majority white males. The company hires a good percentage of females but these are not always in professional roles or senior/management roles. They have a program for providing work experience and employing refugees, a program for returning to work after time off (e.g. following maternity leave), they offer 3 months paternity leave, have a LBGTIQ group etc.

Standard commitment to diversity training and whatnot. Could do more to change the older generations, but we all know they're too stubborn, and on the way out soon...

Company's gender balance is above industry average, and younger generations have OK gender balance and representation of minorities. Some negative attitudes do remain however. Women underrepresented in senior management. Company is typically quite flexible regarding maternity leave, childcare, etc.

I can see there are lots of awareness programs with regards to diversity. I have not seen any racism/disrespect at my time at GHD.
Intern, Perth - 29 Nov 2018
There has been a focus on diversity and LGBT lately. No promotion of ethnic diversity.
Graduate, Melbourne - 29 Nov 2018
GHD is a huge supporter of diversity and inclusion. All levels of management are vocal supporters of LGBT inclusion and support, indigenous employment and mental health awareness. I'm indigenous and have been put on the advisory committee for GHD's reconciliation action plan. GHD has a massive number of women in leadership and management roles to the extent that people joke about it being harder to be promoted as a man. Maternity leave and paternity leave are given to anyone having a child. Turnover rate is around the industry average for consulting companies with people leaving in search of better pay or different work.

Many programs to include everyone.

They have diversity and inclusion teams which run events focusing on these issues. They promote discussion during morning tea focusing on particular issues which I found interesting. Issues included respect to women, indigenous issues, LGBT, modern slavery, etc.
Graduate, Sydney - 28 Nov 2018
GHD encourages diversity and makes a conscious effort to employee people from a diverse background. Including working with refugee and indigenous employment groups.
Graduate, Sydney - 28 Nov 2018
Recruitment is diverse. Celebrate multicultural day, International Women's Day, participate in Mo-vember. Also have an active and broadening reconciliation action plan.
