7.5 rating for Career Prospects, based on 54 reviews
Please tell us about promotion possibilities and fill us in on what it takes to move up the ranks.
There seems to be minimal structure when it comes to career progression, particularly within the ID discipline.
Graduate, Adelaide - 05 Dec 2018
As I have only recently started it is difficult to tell but there seems to be a natural progression based on responsibility and performance
Graduate, Adelaide - 05 Dec 2018
Lots of opportunities
Graduate, Wodonga - 04 Dec 2018
I want to progress Career wise into a Principal Engineer. I think with the support of my experienced colleagues this is a streamlined process.
Midlevel, Sydney - 03 Dec 2018
I feel like there is a jump after being in the company for ~5 years and then no progression points until when you are much more senior.
Graduate, Melbourne - 30 Nov 2018
It appears there is a good path for progression across the company, but it remains unclear what responsibilities are added on at each level, and what salaries can be expected at each level. If I am not earning much more here over the next 5 years, should I stay or go?
Graduate, Melbourne - 29 Nov 2018
The path ahead of me is clear and concise. To get a promotion I need to learn enough to be able to work independently within acceptable time frames and quality.
Intern, Perth - 29 Nov 2018
I have climbed the ranks significantly yet, but i have been exposed to many teams and a variety of work which makes me feel like a have plenty of career progression within this one company.
Graduate, Sydney/ Brisbane - 29 Nov 2018
Best opportunity is to come back with more experience later in career
Graduate, Perth - 29 Nov 2018
The company has structures and plans in place to help employees move up the ranks, and in my role it is clear what the prospects are I just don't want to reach those prospects, hence the 5 rating. I have found that if you do good work most of the time, take in & apply feedback and learn from any errors you make, then people generally trust you more.
Graduate, Melbourne - 29 Nov 2018
Moving up the ranks is dependent on how long you have been working at the company.
Graduate, Melbourne - 29 Nov 2018
Mostly experience-based. Can only progress so fast based on competency alone.
Graduate, Perth - 29 Nov 2018
As long as you can demonstrate that you've had a variety of experiences and take up additional roles, you will be recognized.
Graduate, Melbourne - 29 Nov 2018
With the training programs in place with graduates, they endorse growth within their employees
Graduate, Brisbane - 28 Nov 2018
GHD don't really have promotions, you tend to negotiate your way based on how much you can charge a client.
Graduate, Brisbane - 28 Nov 2018
Initially just gaining experience and meeting a certain number of years means you move up a band. Opportunities to be involved in extracurricular activities or help with certain team activities.
Graduate, Brisbane - 28 Nov 2018
No such thing as promotions for younger employees. Need to be here for a long time before you move up the ranks
Graduate, Sydney - 28 Nov 2018
Great opportunities to move around and up
Graduate, Brisbane - 28 Nov 2018
Promotions and career progression are severely limited during the first 3 years as a grad.
Graduate, Brisbane - 28 Nov 2018
There are opportunities for moving between teams, allowing growth of experience. Generally, experience is what allows you to move up the ranks
