Registered General Nurse, Australian Army
The Australian Army seeks to employ Registered Generalist Nurses to fulfil full-time positions in its deployable health units and primary healthcare facilities in clinical delivery, training, health management and administration roles. This is an excellent opportunity for Nurses passionate about management and leadership to step up and command a nursing team or even a health unit.
When working at your home unit location, and when deployed, you can expect to provide primary health care and immediate resuscitation in a pre-hospital setting. When not deployed or on operations, you will focus on training and you will have the opportunity to maintain clinical skills through employment on Defence bases delivering primary healthcare to local Defence personnel. You may also be employed in key management, administrative and command positions which will develop your skills and professional prospects.
You will complete the Specialist Service Officer course at the Royal Military Duntroon, Canberra. This course, conducted over a period of 42 days, will provide fundamental knowledge of leadership, command and control, personnel administration, basic military skills and the ideas of officer behaviour necessary for future employment. Base salary on completion of initial military training will be $77,838 plus generous superannuation. You may work and live out of various locations around Australia, including Brisbane, Townsville, Darwin and Albury-Wodonga.
You will also receive medical and dental care, and housing or rental allowances applicable to your situation. Citizenship, security clearance, medical and fitness requirements will be conducted as part of the recruitment process.
If you seek to challenge your professional, mental and physical capabilities, then the Army may be the next step in your career.
