About You

For the 2019 Finance graduate intake, we’re looking to broaden the backgrounds we traditionally take our graduates from. While Finance, Accounting, Economics, Business and Commerce remain important, more and more of what we do in Finance is driven by technology and data.

As a result, we’re interested in the following disciplines/majors:

  • Accounting
  • Finance
  • Economics
  • Econometrics
  • Business or Commerce
  • Technology or Computing and Software Systems
  • Data Science
  • Mathematics and Statistics

A double degree is desirable, but not essential and a high grade point average will make for a competitive application in this program.

Pros and cons of working at ANZ AU

Pros

  • It's flexible, people are nice and helpful and plenty of growth opportunities.

  • Great support network and development.

  • Company culture - most people are friendly, willing to help, easy to chat to. Career progression - large international organization with lots of departments, opportunity for career progression and even career diversification within the company Perks - depending on the team you're in, you can work from home when needed and again depending on the role, you may not need to dress strictly corporate (i.e. suit and tie or high heels)

  • Easy going, interesting work, ability to do multiple rotations and see lots of different teams, flexible working

  • The people and the culture

Cons

    • Clarity regarding graduate program structure.

    • Being a large enterprise organization, there are constant restructures every 1-2 years and the risk of redundancy is quite high. Being a large company also means several cumbersome processes and systems and old, inefficient, ineffective ways of performing certain tasks.

    • Could be more training as a graduate before starting in your team- broad training such as credit writing
